Steelers and Bills Close-out Preseason

The Steelers and Bills close out their preseason slates tonight. The Bills will be in Detroit to battle the Lions. Bills pregame on the air at 5pm on 100.1 The Hero. The Steelers entertain the Carolina Panthers. Steelers pregame on the air after the Evening Report at 6:30pm on 1490 WESB.

Penn St. and Ohio St. in Same Division

The Big Ten has set it's divisions for the 2011 exapnsion which adds Nebraska. Ohio State and Michigan will be in different divisions when the league expands to 12 members next year. Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana will be in one six team divisision. Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota and Northwestern in the other. Michigan and Ohio State will be in seperate divisions, but will continue to play each other each year in the Big Ten regular-season finale, as they have since 1943.

Yankees Win; Indians and Mets Lose

The Yankees edged the A's 4-3. Mark Teixeira had three hits and three RBI. A.J. Burnett got the win allowing three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts. a Mariano Rivera earned his 28th. The Yankees still lead the AL East by a full game.

The Indians fell to the White Sox 6-4. Asdrubal Cabrera and Jordan Brown each had RBI for the Tribe. Indians starter Carlos Carrasco, making his first big league start of the 2010 campaign,allowed three runs on six hits and had a no decsion. The Indians have dropped four straight.

The Mets fell to the Braves 4-1. Mike Pelfrey took the loss allowing four runs on nine hits in five innings. Luis Hernandez had the lone RBI for New York. The Mets have dropped four of their past five games.

Pirates Fall to Cubs

The Pirates fell to the Cubs Wednesday 5-3. Neal Walker had three hits including a solo homer. Andrew McCutchen had two RBI. James McDonald took the loss allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings. The Cubs took two of three in the series at Wrigley Field.
